organic: Organic food is that which meets with certain standards of production. Although national bodies differ slightly in their exact stipulations, crops are standardly considered organic only if the use of conventional pesticides, artificial fertilizers, human waste or sewage, ionizing radiation and additives is absent at every stage of the production process.
