Clearspring March

Body:
Welcome to our March Newsletter

Ah, a touch of spring in the air! Yes, it may seem overdue, but the good thing about nature is that it guarantees change, fertility, prosperity. We just have to give nature a good and fair chance. Today we are so preoccupied with big debates, GMO vs. NON-GMO, organic vs. non-organic, one political party vs. another, to be vegan/vegetarian vs. omnivore, fair trade or no trade. The list goes on and on. It’s high time we started to honestly invest in nature, instead of fighting it, slashing and burning it. Remember the 8th Wonder of the World? Yes, compound interest. Investing in  safe and sustainable organic agriculture will bring the best all-round compounding results and an incredible abundance of quality food in the right proportions for human consumption on a seasonal basis.

Just reflect on these simple words: sustainable, safe, quality, right proportions, seasons.

Then I think you will find that most of the big debates can be solved.

Best wishes,

Christopher Dawson

News from Clearspring

From February 17th to 20th, Clearspring exhibited at Biofach in Nuremberg. As always we received a lot of positive feedback and enjoyed the opportunity to speak to international customers and colleagues. We were particularly pleased to hear that signs of recovery from the global recession are being felt more and more, and the European organic market is on its way to achieving good growth this year. At Clearspring we are proud to be part of the organic movement and we were delighted with the support and encouragement from Biofach attendees.

In other news, we have been updating the website recently. We have revamped the ‘about us’ section, so please take a look. We are continually working on the website to make it as interesting and informative as possible, so if you have any suggestions we are always happy to hear them – get in touch at info@clearspring.co.uk.

Leave it out for Lent

Many of us are torn between being healthy and having the odd indulgence. Eating healthily need not be a struggle though and there are still plenty of treats to be had. Lent is the ideal time to cut down on the junk, so why not take it one step at a time and start with refined sugar? Clearspring offer a great range of products containing naturally occurring sugar.

  • First of all, make Clearspring Organic Malt Syrup your every day sweetener. It is perfect for baking, adding to hot drinks or drizzling onto fruit, bread or pancakes and as it releases its energy more slowly than refined sugar, it’s better for your body.

  • Secondly, use Clearspring Organic Mikawa Mirin to add a hint of sweetness and depth to sauces such as teriyaki or sweet and sour. You can also add it to stews, stir-fries and soups.

  • For a really simple dessert, eat Clearspring Organic Fruit Purées. They’re free from preservatives and colourings, packed with the natural sweetness of fruit with no added sugar, and come in 10 great flavours.

  • Finally, have a look at our recipe section for some great ideas for sweet treats, all free from any added sugar.
