Tofu Hiyayakko


          
            Tofu Hiyayakko - Clearspring

A summer favourite. Hiyayakko (冷奴) means chilled tofu in Japanese. Traditionally served with grated ginger, spring onion and a drizzle of shoyu soya sauce. This recipe uses fresh coriander and fresh chilli with a drizzle of toasted sesame oil for an exciting side salad or a light meal.

Serves 2
preparation time - 10 mins (chill the tofu before preparing 1 hour )

Ingredients:

Method:

  1. Open the pack of tofu, drain the liquid and place on a plate.
  2. Peel skin off ginger and grate. On a chopping board, chop spring onion, chilli and coriander.
  3. Add grated ginger and mix together, then place a generous amount on top of the tofu.
  4. Drizzle toasted sesame oil followed by the Yaemon Tamari.
  5. Enjoy straight away.
