The Seasons was established in 1971, by Diana Philips. She was a Quaker farmer from Kent, and wanted to bring Organic and Biodynamic food to the Community. Forest Row has an amazing alternative community, so the shop soon grew into a busy social meeting place for locals. John Walden joined the Seasons in the early 80s and soon became a director and eventually bought the shop in 2012. At this time John brought on board his two sons Robin and Tim. One of which, Robin, who is a Director, is now the driving force in bringing the shop into the 21st century.
The family run business and is growing from strength to strength. At present we are spread over two stores. However from the autumn we are merging our too shops together to give a more enjoyable shopping experience. This is very exciting for us all and for Forest Row.
Feeling like we can make a difference. Selling good healthy organic food is easy and helping to make people become healthier is a wonderful thing to be able to offer. Having happy customers who enjoy shopping here as much as we like working here! We feel in this day and age we can offer a warm and friendly service that the bigger stores can’t compete with.
The hardest thing about running the Shops is not having enough space to stock all the great products out there. But we are moving soon so this will no longer be a problem.
A good brand that deliver good quality products, one of my favourites is the pickled sushi ginger!
Most poplar product is soy sauce!
At present we have a competition running until the first week in July for our Customers to show us what meals they have prepared with the products they have bought in store. We also hold many tasting events and sampling days in our shops, however the biggest event that is happening this year will be the Forest Row music festival, which we will be heavily involved in this year, selling Organic and vegan ice creams by the scoop! All info about our events and the Festival can be found via our social networks. We have a new website that is under construction. www.facebook.com/TheSeasonsForestRow
