Why they cannot be called jams

Jams are required by law to have a minimum overall sugar content, so when fruit juice is used as an ingredient, instead of sugar, the overall sugar content (and the calories) are reduced. Thus the term 'jam' can no longer be used.

Fortunately the old recipe not the new.

Having tasted the new recipe for this fruit spread I was pleased that when my delivery arrived it was still the original product which is full of fruit. Unfortunately when I eventually receive an order containing jars of the new recipe I will have to start looking for an alternative.

Excellent apricot fruit spread, not sweet and sticky like jam, with bits of apricots and a true apricot flavour, highly recommended!
