    What is Buckwheat

    Despite the name, buckwheat is not related to wheat nor is it a grass, it is in fact closely related to rhubarb and sorrel. The name 'buckwheat' or 'beech wheat' comes from its triangular seeds, which resemble the much larger seeds of the beech nut from the beech tree, and the fact that it is used like wheat. It is one of the most versatile gluten free grains central to many international recipes from Japanese soba noodles, Eastern European Kasha to French galettes and has been used for centuries across the world as a staple food.

  • Bring plenty of water to the boil with a pinch of salt if desired. Add 80g of pasta per portion. For perfect “al dente” pasta simmer for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally. For more tender pasta, simmer for an additional 1-2 minutes. Drain through a sieve and serve immediately with your favourite sauce.

    Serving suggestion: Buckwheat Pasta also makes a perfect base for a salad. Just rinse under cold running water after cooking and mix with fresh ingredients and a dressing of your choice. This box contains 3 servings.

Great!

It's very tasty, I prefer this to the chickpea one as the texture is more similar to normal pasta. Would recommend.

Great, nutritious pasta!

This pasta has quickly become my staple diet! It’s made of soba (buckwheat) - ie healthy, nutritious and non-grain - is ready in 8 min, has lovely texture just like the best durum semolina pasta, filling and tasty. I eat with ready made pasta sauce, and drizzle extra virgin olive oil over it! Scrumptious!

This pasta is perfect for a gluten free diet. I love it in salads or with a light sauce. A nice texture and has a nutty taste. Easy to cook!!
